About

Who am I?
Hello, nice to meet you, my name is Anushka & I am a London-based writer and musician. I read a lot of books and have a lot of opinions. I am intrigued by narrative and story, and I am constantly investigating these practices through my writing and research, which crosses genres between music, performance, and academia.

I am an AHRC-funded PhD student at London College of Fashion (UAL), researching dress histories of the Chinese diaspora in Britain. I hold a Masters degree in the History and Culture of Fashion from the London College of Fashion, and a Bachelors degree in Costume and Performance Design from the Arts University at Bournemouth. My specialist area is Orientalism & exoticism in fashion and film costuming.

Work?

I write about fashion & textiles, costume in film, exhibitions, and art.

I write music and regularly perform in various musical projects, in voice and on keyboard. I also teach piano lessons privately.
